Tyco SolarLok Connector with Neutral Male and Negative Female 75 Foot Tyco (minus) These 75' PV output cables have Tyco SolarLok connectors to match the connectors on some SCHOTT, Day4Energy, GE and CSI Solar modules. These cables have a neutral male at one end and a minus female at the other so they can be used to extend the cables on the modules or be cut in half and used to connect to a roof-top combiner. Made with PV-Wire that has an extra layer of insulation for use on ungrounded arrays in conjunction with transformerless inverters. This type of wire is required to meet the 2008 NEC if you are using a transformerless inverter. All cables are manufactured with #10awg PV Wire, which is UL 4703 rated and double jacketed/insulated. PV Wire is now needed for ungrounded arrays in conjunction with transformerless inverters. USE-2 approved solar cable – for the North American market UL approved cable is offered in 10 through 14 AWG. This cable is approved for USE-2, XHHW-2, RHW-2, or RHH. Sunlight, gasoline, and petroleum resistance make this an ideal cable for any solar installation in North America. A high strand count increases the flexibility and tinned copper wire strands ease the use of this cable. Male or Female? At first glance, the distinction between male and female connectors is somewhat counter-intuitive. "Male" or "female" refers to the metal pins inside rather than the actual housing of the connectors. The housing of the male connector has a large opening at the end with the actual pin inside. The connector of the female, however, has a long tip goes fits into male connector when the two are mated.
